Professional Experience

EonDigital, Knoxville, TN, Owner 4/2016 – Present

Formed a partnership between EonEntertainment Inc and TDS-Exhibits that specializes in interactive and non-interactive digital signage. Clients include Oak Ridge National Lab, University of Tennessee, Royal Building Products, Jewelry Television, Cellular Sales, Idaho National Lab and many others.

Designed and developed multiple product lines of customizable kiosks.

Established overseas manufacturing partnerships.

EonEntertainment Inc, Knoxville, TN, CEO 6/2010 – Present

Produce both long and short format video for DVD and online distribution. Oversee production in Burbank, CA to ensure production levels meet expectations for post production. Maintain budgets for all aspects each project, from production all the way through DVD manufacturing to ensure the highest possible ROI.

Designed and oversee the analog to digital conversion of special effects photo and video archives for such films as Ghostbusters, Spiderman 2, Fright Night and more.

Designed and developed the workflow that converts feature films and trailers to the digital cinema (DCP) standard.

Jewelry Television (JTV), Knoxville, TN, Manager of Digital Media Research 6/2004 – 10/2012

Responsibilities include management of digital media endeavors and personnel. Oversee the research, design and prototyping of hardware and software products that are used for the broadcast and e-commerce departments.  Achievements include:

  • Creating four new video technologies that led to the first patented intellectual properties for Jewelry Television
  • Developing two systems to automate video capture of product into a loop-able video (without editing) for on air playback and the web
  • Assisting executive management in the decision making process regarding the acquisition of two related companies
  • Building and managing the video conversion system and converting 1000+ videos per week for broadcast, the web, and mobile devices (as of Q1 2011, there were in excess of 60,000 videos online)
  • Optimizing live webcasts and increasing the audience 600% over 1.5 years
  • Growing the web video presence and increasing the conversion rate from 4% to 20% per item
  • Expanding and growing JTV’s streaming infrastructure into multiple load balanced and geographically distributed data centers
  • Saving $98,000 per year by redesigning the online media distribution infrastructure

Leakynews.com, Senior Staff and Video Gallery Manager 3/2006 – 12/2012

Responsibilities include assisting in the establishment of the video gallery by collecting and transcoding hundreds of videos; incorporating a content management system in order for the gallery administrators to manage when and where videos are placed and create tags and keywords to enhance users’ searches. As of Q1 2011, there are over 2000 videos and approximately 12 million video views. Achievements include:

  • Developing an iPhone and Android phone app for Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter that is fully featured and available for sale in both Apple’s App Store and the Android Market.

Digital Color Inc, Knoxville, TN, Art Director/Systems Integrator 9/2003 – 7/2004

Responsibilities included working with Mac and PC-based systems to design graphics, copy and layout for various projects.  Manage other graphic designers to ensure photography, colors, layout and printed materials met the client requirements.

Eonstreams Inc, Knoxville, TN, Founder and CEO 5/1999 – 10/2002

Founded Eonstreams, a streaming media company, in 1999.  Incorporated the company in 2000.  Responsibilities encompassed: organizing and directing video shoots and audio recordings; marketing and selling the services of Eonstreams; representing the  company at trade shows and conventions; managing a staff of 24; and , digitizing, editing, and encoding audio and video segments.  Achievements included:

  • Negotiating bandwidth expenses down from $86k per month to $15k per month

  • Producing an online concert for Brian McKnight

  • Producing many online programs for Gaylord Entertainment

  • Producing online program for Daytona Bikeweek

  • Selling the company for ~$46M

Home and Garden Television (HGTV), Knoxville, TN, New Technology Specialist 7/1998 – 3/2000

Responsibilities included: leading the effort for HGTV in the convergence of television content and the Internet; project management for testing convergence technology such as Intercast, Wink, WebTV and DirectTV; converting on air content for distribution on the Internet; editing video content for web streaming; creating graphics and new media productions; and, evaluating new technology. Achievements included:

  • Launching a new division online known as HG Radio, a precursor to podcasting

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining streaming media servers

  • Assisting (online) in the launch of a new sister network called Do-It-Yourself (DIY)

  • Designing media storage system for graphics arts department

Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL), Oak Ridge, TN, Multimedia/Videographer 4/1995 – 5/1998

Responsibilities included: performing various photographic duties including photography, scanning and digital image manipulation with Photoshop; video production including pre-production, production and post production; maintaining Metals and Ceramics (M&C) Division website; installing and maintaining NT Servers, NT workstations, Windows 95, and MAC workstations. Achievements included:

  • Creating an animation specifically for the President of the United States

  • Creating video and assisting in the design of a web site for Vice-President Al Gore’s visit to ORNL

  • Designing and implementing digital, non-linear video editing suite

  • Converting the Photographic Imaging Group from conventional photography to digital

  • Creating a multimedia CD, web site and video for the Department of Transportation and Ford Motor Company that was was shown on the Discovery Channel, CNN, and local news stations

  • Creating two multimedia CDs for the High Temperature Materials Laboratory (HTML)

  • Creating database system for cataloging hundreds of thousands of images
