Manager of Digital Media
Began as a Digital Media Engineer then promoted to Senior Digital Media Engineer and finally to Manager of Digital Media Research. Responsibilities include management of all company endeavors and assets in digital media, including live webcasts and video on demand (VOD). This required interfacing with executive management, interpreting their vision and translating the technical jargon into a brief summary for presentation. Other duties include staying on the bleeding edge of digital media technologies, codecs, trends, and maintaining a budget. Achievements include:
- Created three new video technologies that lead to the first patented intellectual properties for Jewelry Television
- Optimized the live webcast and increased the audience 600% over 1.5 years
- Grew the web video presence and increased the conversion rate from 4% to 20% per item
- Expanded and grew our streaming infrastructure into multiple load balanced and geographically distributed data centers
- Saved $98,000 per year by redesigning online media distribution infrastructure
- Developed system to automate video capture of product into a loop-able video (without editing) for on air playback, creating a new division and new jobs within the company
- Built and managed the video conversion system (Anystream Agility), responsible for converting 1000+ videos per week for broadcast, the web, and mobile devices (as of Q4 2008, there were in excess of 45,000 videos online)

Video Gallery Manager
Helped to establish the video gallery by collecting and transcoding hundreds of videos. Using a variety of tools, including Rhozet Carbon Coder, videos are uploaded to a server then watermarked, converted and distributed (all automatically) to another server that displays the content in the gallery. Using a content management system, the gallery administrators are able to manage when and where videos are placed, as well as create tags and keywords to allow users the ability to search. As of Q1 2009, there are over 1000 videos and approximately 6 million video views.

- Created a multimedia CD, web site and video for the Department of Transportation and Ford Motor Company. Video was shown on the Discovery Channel, CNN, and local news stations
- Created two multimedia CDs for the High Temperature Materials Laboratory (HTML). Five thousand copies were distributed as of 4/20/98
- Created database system for cataloging hundreds of thousands of images
- Tested and created some of the Internet’s first streaming media with Progressive Networks (now Real Networks / Real Media)
